Basic and Enabling Skills Training
| Education for Skills Training (BEST) Programme |
| Description |
- Designed for working adults to acquire a basic education in English Language up to Primary School Leaving Exam level.
- Certificate-in-BEST awarded upon successful completion of the end-of-module exams.

- Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents
- Other eligibility criteria differ among self-help groups. Please check with self-help group.

| Funding Support |
- Support of up to 100% of course fees.
- *Individuals pay up to S$15 per module

| Course Duration |

| Worker Improvement through Secondary Education (WISE) Programme |
| Description |
- Aims to upgrade the education level of working adults up to GCE 'N' level in English Language
- Certificate-in-WISE awarded upon successful completion of the end-of-module exam for Modules 1,2 & 3. Module 4 students will sit for GCE 'N' level exam if they pass Module 3 exam

| Eligibility Criteria |
- Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents.
- Other eligibility criterial differ among self-help groups. Please check with self-help groups

| Funding Support |
- Support of up to 100% of course fees.
- *Individuals pay up to S$25 per module

| Course Duration |
- English Language Modules 1 & 2 - 100 hours each
- English Language Modules 3 & 4 - 120 hours each
| Employability Skills System (ESS) will be replacing the BEST/WISE programmes by 2009. Existing participants of BEST/WISE can continue to complete their courses from now till 2009. Companies and individuals interested to take up ESS-Workplace Literacy and Workplace Numeracy training can approach NTUC LearningHub, FTC Kaplan Pte Ltd, SSA Management Consultants or Training Vision Pte Ltd. The course fees for ESS-WPLN programmes range from $20 to $50 per module after funding from WDA.
